I had a custom request for a ferret toy made specifically out of tulle and rubber. My ferret knowledge is greatly limited. I call this a Ferret Flower. The balls end is a crocheted hyperbolic shape worked in tulle, with dangly tulley bits all around, forming a big poof ball. The stem is crocheted tulle with a strip of rubber running down the middle. The 'leaves' and 'roots' are hand sewn silicon rubber. So I figure it's like a ball to toss around, a tug-of-war thingy, and a chewy gnawy thingy all in one.
I hope the ferrets approve.

This is a shelf in the kitchen. That's a pizza plate my mom gave me when she returned from her trip to Italy, a stone goblet Josh picked up at The Orange Cat cafe in Lewiston, NY, a vanilla candle with real flowers in it, an empty bottle of Porfidio, a mostly empty bottle of Bacardi Gold, and a ceramic lobster holding a banana. You can't see it from this angle, but the banana is smiling.

Made these cupcake coffee cup cozys for a custom order. Wheeew. Lots of c's in that last sentence.
Pretty cute, huh? Check the bead sprinkles!
Now I want a real one. Not that it takes me looking at a fake cupcake to make me want a real one. I just need to be awake.

(To the tune of 'Rock Me Amadeus')
(oh oh oh)
A teratoma is a tumorous mass that sometimes contains hair, teeth, and in rare cases parts of organs and partially formed limbs.
The human body is an amazing thing, ain't it?
This teratoma has teeth, hair, a kidney, an eyeball, an arm, and a leg. I did this for a custom order, but am making it available in the shop, because I like it so darn much!
I can't take credit for being the first to crochet a teratoma - that goes to The Anti-Craft... you should really check it out, this blog is one of the inspirations for much of my own work.
I went out of my way to create my own version, and not just a rip-off copy of hers. I think they're both very awesome, and that there's room for all kinds of crocheted teratomas in this world.
